Amelia Earhart:

Amelia Earhart was the first woman pilot. She also was the second person to fly around the world alone after Charles Lindebergh. She was 34 when she first took off, and went missing during her trip. People went out searching for her body or plane, and to this day, never found it. The plane was possibly found by Apple in Nikumaroro Lagoon. But it is not for sure.

I asked my 5th grade Math teacher some questions! Thank you Mrs. Powers! We all love you!!!!

1. Q: What do you lile about teaching?

A: “Working with students to help them learn and prepare for their future.”

1. Q: How did you get into teaching?

A: “When my children were young, I volunteered and subbed in classrooms and fell in love with teaching. I went back to college to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.”

1. Q: What would you change about it and why?

A: “ I would change the major focus on testing. Students and teachers are much more than a test.”

1. Q: What is your biggest dislike about it?

A: “ Teacher pay. I think teachers should be paid more for the work they do.”

1. Q: Do you like teaching math? Why?

A: “ Math has always been my favorite subject even when I was in school. I like teaching math because I love helping students become better Mathematicians.”

About the Author: Hi! My name is Ella and I am in 5th grade and 10 years old! I am a kid like you! I wanted to start a newspaper because I love reading, writing, and learning, and I’m sure others do too! I wanted kids to be able to read about what they enjoy, and that is what this is for! I got the name idea from my dad, and the picture from my special stuffed animal “Greenie”, a green monkey! I wanted to inspire children to love learning, and I hope I did! A special thank you to my parents, and teachers for inspiring me! Thanks to my mom and dad for helping me with this and being okay with it! And thank you to my PopPop who set up this website!
