Week of 2-14-2-21-2022:

Baseball:

I asked my friends Maison and Keegan about baseball. Here’s what they said!:

M=Maison, K=Keegan.

  1. What do you like about baseball?: M- He said that he likes “running and hitting with catching.” K- He said that he likes the mechanics, the way it's played, and that it makes you feel like a better athlete.

  2. What do you not like about it?: M- He said he does NOT like “the chants and lineup”. K- He said he does NOT like getting coaches, getting mad, and being the last out.

  3. What would you change about it?: M- He said he would change the jerseys, and the pants to shorts. K- He said he would change “Nothing.”.

Finally, I asked “Why for all of them?”: M- He said; “so I can have fun and have a break from things.” K- He said “ Because I love baseball.”.

I asked Karli about how she feels about school and COVID-19/coronavirus, here were my questions, and her answers.:

What is it like to be in school, with COVID going on?: “Different.” “It’s weird because now we have to wear a mask. We can’t eat in the cafeteria, you know? I don’t like where I’m at.”

How does it make you feel?: “It feels the same, we just have to wear a mask.”

Any emotions: I’m fine, I just don’t like wearing a mask. I’m disappointed.”

Do you ever get nervous about it?: “No.”

What advice do you have for others?: “Stay positive.”

Ivory Elephant Tusks?!:

About 50,000 elephants in Africa are killed yearly for their ivory tusks. Isn’t that wrong? Well, scientists have found a way to track the DNA in the tusks, to criminal gangs who are selling the ivory for money. Poachers kill the elephants and sell their tusks for about 450 dollars a pound. Smugglers, smuggle them out of the country, usually to Asia. Scientists now have found a way to track the poachers. Let me know if you want a follow-up!

Deep Oceans:

There is so much of our oceans we have not explored yet! Why is that? WEll, being that far down is freezing, and the water pressure is too high it would destroy many submarines and humans in less than ten seconds. The lowest people have ever went, was two people who went to Challenger Deep, which is 36,200 feet below.

WOTW: freedom: to be independent and your own person, not someone else's

QOTW: “My mission is not merely to survive, but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” -Maya Angelou

February is Black History Month, be inspired, and thank you!

Here's the paper early!
