Call Me Crazy Carter:

By: Ella:

Chapter 1; Carter Framed:

Carter Castle is a 12 year old boy, living in Austin, Texas. He lives with his mom, dad, and younger sister Jenna. His friends live next door, to the right is Scarlett, to the left is Jimmy. They are all pretty nosy. Carter was walking home from school one day, and was stopped, by a SUPERHERO. He couldn’t believe his eyes! “Reality Man”, Carter had seen him on the news before, but never in real life! Then, Reality Man said the best thing Carter had ever heard, “ Hey, Carter, right? I’ve seen you around before, I’m Reality Man, a superhero whose power is knowing what should really happen in reality, and I make it happen.” And then, he said the worst thing. “ Anyway Carter, I hope you’re a fan, because you're coming with me, and you are in big trouble.” Carter looked around, hoping no one saw. He went with Reality Man, his face was filled with fear. Then, that fear turned to joy when he saw Jimmy and Scarlett, but they didn’t see Reality Man, and Carter didn’t see him anymore either! “Guys! Guys!” Carter yelled. “Look, it’s Reality Man!!!”. Then, Scarlett said, “Ummm. nobody is there, Carter. Are you okay?” “What, what? He was just there a minute ago. I swear.” said Carter. Then Jimmy blurted out, “ Buddy, did you get enough sleep last night? Come on, let's take you home.” “ That’s so weird.” whispered Carter as Jimmy and Scarlett mumbled to each other, trying to figure out what was wrong with Carter. Maybe he was just sleep deprived. He went home, ate dinner, and got some sleep. But, the next day, he saw Reality Man again, and followed him. Maybe, just maybe he could catch him, and figure out what the heck was going on.

Chapter 2; Carter’s Catchphrase:

Carter was following Reality Man, when he turned down the forbidden street, “Queen’s Street”. “It really doesn’t sound scary” Carter said to himself as Scarlett and Jimmy peeked around him and Scarlett said, “Yeah, they just want people to think it's not.”. “You guys scared me!” said Carter. “ That's the point of the forbidden road ooOooooOOOooOOoo.” said Jimmy, trying to sound scary. (He didn’t by the way.) “What are you doing here?” asked Scarlett. “Ummmm, just looking.” answered Carter. “Well, I’m going home.” said Jimmy. “Me too.” said Scarlett. “Bye guys!!!!.” Carter yelled. “Bye Carter!” the two yelled as they were walking away, sun shining on their faces, beautiful, clueless, faces. Carter continued down the road, he knew that time was money, he just kept repeating his catchphrase “Maybe, just maybe, Maybe just maybe, Maybe, just maybe.” said Carter. “Maybe just maybe, this will all be the real thing.” Carter was down the street, turned a corner onto Cumberland Road, and then, saw Reality Man! Reality Man looked at his watch, and said “This isn’t supposed to happen yet!”. So Reality Man RAN so fast Carter didn’t think he could make it out, but he ran to his house, and there stood Jenna, blocking the doorway, right at the time he needed her to cooperate, she wouldn’t. “Jenna,” Carter said, “MOVE!”, but Jenna responded with two letters, she could've aced a spelling test with this word, she spells it, and says it a lot, sure could find a sentence; “N.O. ''. “Come on Jen.” said Carter. “N.O..” said Jenna. So he ran to Scarlett’s house, she wasn't home, went to Jimmy’s, again, not home. So, he did the only logical thing, broke into Jimmy’s house. Carter then said to himself, “Why in the world did Reality Man look at his watch?”. Carter knew where to find a key, they were best friends! But, the key wasn’t in its normal spot, and he turned around, and saw Jimmy and Scarlett, just standing there, like nothing. “What's going on Carter?” asked Jimmy. “Nothing Jim, you? Whatcha doing there?” answered Carter. “What are you doing there, Carter?” Ok, Carter admitted, “I’ve seen Reality Man a dozen times, down Cumberland, chasing me, he found me and tried to take me, but the last time I saw him, at Cumberland, he looked at his watch and said” “This isn’t supposed to happen yet!”, “yet, said Carter, “yet. When was it supposed to happen?! No, I’m sorry, When is it???!!! Then, Jenna bursted out laughing from around the corner, “What’s your problem Carter?” she said, still laughing like she was being tickled with a million feathers. “My problem,'' asked Carter “Why are you laughing so much at me going crazy?! Can’t you see I need someone to believe me, let me into my own house, my friends house?! You guys wouldn’t understand, you haven’t seen what I have, haven’t felt what I’ve felt. You are just standing there. Laughing, straight face, whatever, you are not trusting me, helping me! Jimmy, we have been friends for 9 years, 9! Scarlett, you and me, 7 years. You are seriously going to think I’m going insane, then help me? Believe me? I’m never going to find my reality. Forget it, I’ve been hurt enough for one day.” said Carter, walking away with tears in his eyes. Scarlett burst into tears, “I didn’t want to hurt him!!” “I know, Scar, I know.” said Jimmy. Jenna, still laughing like she was being put up to it. Jimmy burst into Carter's house and said “ Cart, where are you Cart? “I don’t want to talk, especially not to you, or Scarlett, or anyone else.” Replied Carter. “You don’t have to talk, just listen. I’ve got a big story, settle in.”

Chapter 3; The Story:

“Once Upon a Time, James Barwin took some forbidden medicine in his house, and became a superhero, and he called himself Reality Man, that,” “is your grandfather, I know.” interrupted Carter. “Yes, he was, but he passed, and so it passed to” “James Barwin the second, your dad!” Carter again interrupted. “Your dad is Reality Man, you’re next in line!!!!” “Well, not quite, my dad doesn’t want me to become him, well, he knows it's not right for reality, it’s somebody out of the family, but still close.” “Who, who?!” Carter interrupted. “I can’t say exactly.” quickly replied Jimmy. “Why not?” “You’ll know soon enough.” and Jimmy walked away, just like that, “That was such a weird story, but hey, I can ask his dad now!” “But, why wouldn’t Jimmy, James Barwin the third be the next Reality Man?” Carter mumbled to himself, “It makes no sense.”. Jenna walked in right then, just as he said Jimmy’s story, “What, what?! How do you know all that? And I didn’t?!” “Jenna, you CANNOT tell ANYONE, do you hear me?!” “Jeez, Carter, yeah, fine, I won’t.” “That is not true, you are gonna post this, and tell all of your friends!” “I won't, I won't.” “ You better not.” Carter firmly replied, “You better not.”.

Chapter 4: Never:

Never, never, never, that’s how Carter felt, never gonna find Reality man, never gonna find his place, never gonna find his reality. That’s how Carter felt, out of place, for him, it's always, “Maybe, just maybe, Maybe, just maybe.” Carter went back out, for the first time since his breakdown, in front of Scarlett and Jimmy. He went back down Queens Street, hoping to find something, not just Reality Man, anything.

Carter had seen something pop out, he didn't know what though, he walked closer as he grabbed a branch lying in the street, he looked around, and saw it again, again, and again. Carter was chasing around this thing for minutes, but to him, it felt like hours. When he finally caught it, he realized he was chasing Reality Man, and Reality Man was not conscious.

Chapter 5: The Catch:

Carter panicked, then, he took Reality Man to his room, panicked more, sat him down, panicked some more, woke him up, and said “How come you said, “This isn’t supposed to happen yet!” running away from me in the alley? Yet, yet? When is yet?”

“Carter,” Reality Man said “Carter, relax, look, I can’t tell you… yet.” What did Reality Man mean by yet? Carter wondered. Is he waiting for something to happen? And what is the something? What is my reality? He has to know. “Carter, I will tell you on one condition,” “Well, what is that?” “ Let me go, and I promise on my name, on my legacy, on my life, I will tell you, if you meet me on Queens Street tomorrow at 3:00pm.” “Why would I do that?” Carter replied. “ I will tell you the story tomorrow, now, Let. Me. Go. Please Carter, and now.” “Fine!” Catret unlocked the door, and Reality man led himself out. “Why tomorrow? Does that have to do with the “yet”?” Carter said to himself.”Why can’t he just tell me?!” Carter went to sleep and ate some breakfast in the morning. Then, he went to school with Scarlett, Jimmy was sick, he had the flu, they just learned that this morning. They went through classes, and Carter brought JImmy’s work to him, then he went to the alley. “Okay Carter,” started Reality Man “ Get ready, I know you know who I am, Jimmy’s dad, and I will tell you why Jimmy can’t be the next me, the reason I said yet, was because you were supposed to find me yesterday, and then us meet today, I made you work hard for it, ebacsue that's reality. I stopped you that day, to get you to come find me. Now, I will tell you all of this, and I hope you’ll agree, but if you don’t, I have to erase your memory, now, the reason Jimmy can’t be Reality Man, is because no one is supposed to, there is supposed to be a new superhero, you.”

Chapter 6: Carter Catastrophe:

Me? Why me?! This makes no sense! “Somebody close.” That's why Jimmy said, ``I'm the close one, Why me????!!!” “Because, you are supposed to be “Carter Catastrophe”. Now, Carter, let's fight the first villain!” “Now?!” His name is “X10” and he can read minds, which isn’t good with plans, so, we are going to ``''Make the plan beforehand, and get them out of our minds, but with us” Carter interrupted. “Exactly, I knew you were perfect!” “ We need to make something that will let us have it in our minds, but be like a barrier, exactly, a barrier, that we can hear our minds, but X10 can’t.” “ You are perfect for things CC!!!” “Thanks RM.” “Don’t do that.” “ Yeah, got it.” “Your house Carter, that's where he is, lets go! The first fight of many.” “ Wait, but I’m not in my reality. I don’t think I’ll ever find it. ``'' You are in your reality Carter, you're here
